Tayport itself is a small fishing village and its shops, pubs and harbour are within 10 minutes walk of the Park.

This lovely corner of North East Fife has a unique ecology with trees growing right down to the sea shore and the Park is on the edge of a National Nature Reserve, Tentsmuir Forest, www.tentsmuir.org. This beautiful area extends to almost 50 square miles and is full of fascinating walks and bicycle routes.

The Reserve is recognised internationally for the rich variety of plants, birds, insects and other animals which it supports. It also has an equestrian centre and a fantastic, 5 mile long sandy beach, Kinshaldy. There are also opportunities for sailing, dolpohin spotting and sea fishing on the Tay Estuary.

The enchanting 'Home of Golf' St Andrews is only 20 minutes away with its many attractions such as the British Golf Museum, the Cathedral, the Castle and the Sea Life Centre not to mention its wonderful shops!

What can seem like another world, but is in fact only 4 miles away across the silvery River Tay, is Dundee with its wealth of restaurants, theatres and shops as well as 59 public parks and the award winning, all weather, Discovery Point Antarctic Museum www.rrsdiscovery.com.
